One of my favorite artists is Nichole Nordeman. She’s been a little MIA for a few years, but I think it’s because she has young children (a cause near and dear to my heart). She has a song on the new VeggieTales SweetPea Beauty movie called Beautiful for Me. It’s all about how God sees the beauty He created in us when He looks at us. My favorite part:
If it’s true beauty lies in the eye of the beholder
I want my life and what’s inside to give him something to behold
I want a heart that’s captivating
“The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing…to find the place where all the beauty came from.” C.S. Lewis, Till We Have Faces
I’ve been thinking about a new blog idea for a while now. I love blogging and used to be pretty active in blogging about our family. You need to be passionate about something to make time to blog about it. I am passionate about my family, but I became increasingly uncomfortable posting pictures of our kids for anyone to see. I’ve since been in a blog funk. After consideration, it occurred to me to blog about music. I’ve always loved music and lyrics. In fact, when I was younger I wanted to grow up to be the person who chose the music that plays in the background in movies (soundtrack). I now realize that person has to have musical talent. I just like to listen to music and admire from a distance. Usually there are a few songs that speak to me in a season of life. So that’s what this blog is all about. My thoughts on songs and lyrics that are meaningful to me. I can’t help but mix in some commentary about my family and my faith - the two most important things in the world to me. I hope you enjoy this new verse in my blogging adventure!
